Muslims Oppressed Here?
Have you noticed that we are continually informed by the Muslim community that they feel unfairly oppressed, harassed and victimised ? These Muslim complaints are wrongly directed at the police and society, because Muslims are the victim of their own suicide bombers and various Islamic extremists, not society or the police. It is their own Koran which inspires terrorists to kill and maim in the name of Islam, so that Muslims are seen as suspicious when they carry a rucksack on the tube, or walk into a restaurant with a suitcase. Most Muslims are not terrorists, but most terrorists worldwide are Muslims, holding up the Koran while beheading innocent captives, slaughtering thousands by bombs, most of them even their own, but another sect. What causes others such offence and suspicion here is the way Islamists vow death to the West, to all ‘infidels’, as witnessed in the cartoon protests. We wonder why they are here, enjoying all the benefits that Western society provides, if their own civilisation is so superior ? They imply that the source of their hatred is to be found in Afghanistan and Iraq, quite forgetting that our action in Afghanistan was a reaction to the murder of 3000 civilians in New York and Washington by Afghanistan based Al Qaeda. Yes, Iraq was a serious error, in hindsight, and protested at the time by many Britons, but the vast majority of deaths there have not been the responsibility of the Western soldiers, but other Muslims, as we see daily on television. Hatred it seems, is the dominant fruit of Islam all around the world. Continually harking back to Israel is no excuse either, for the history of that nation since 1948 has been one of continued attack by its Islamic neighbours, and even a current denial of its right to exist by the greatest exporter of terrorism in the world – Iran. A rational examination of the deaths that occur there shows that one side continually targets innocent civilians only, and the other targets bomb makers, rocket firers and terrorists. Yes, innocents are killed by both sides, but only by one side as its policy priority. There is a difference when you think about it. Remember too that the Palestinians were offered their own state under very generous terms by the Israelis – Arafat turned it down. Only the extermination of Israel was good enough for him, and the devil take his people ! This is not to say that the Israelis are innocent of guilt. Evil has been done to Palestinians, especially in the past by extremists on their side, and it still happens from time to time today, but when found the perpetrators are charged and punished by jail, just as we see happening to British and American offenders in Iraq. Muslims in Britain must face up to these facts and recognise that, if they do not control their extremists who preach and practise violence, and report them to the police, they will continue to be viewed with suspicion. If they show that they only want to live in peace and harmony with their host nation, that suspicion would rapidly disappear, but if more Islamic terrorists create havoc here, they will continue to be its victims, as well as us. Many are, after all, still strangers in our midst, refusing to integrate into society and preferring to live together in their own communities. Nevertheless, they remain because they recognise how much better off they are here than in their homelands. Our duty has been to help them – Leviticus 19:34 “But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.” Many have worked hard, integrated and prospered and feel no sense of oppression – Exodus 22:21 “Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.” However, all have the responsibility as citizens to honour and respect our religion and our law – Deuteronomy 31:12 “Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law”, especially as they claim to worship the same God, the God of Abraham. Maybe if they read the words of the God that Mohammed himself honoured as the true God, both Old and New Testaments, they would find it easier to live in peace, with peace of mind.
