Recently, the Pastor of the North West Church of God returned from a visit to the churches of the Maasai Mission in Kenya. We have been working with this group of churches for some time now, as they learned about God’s Holy Days and the Kingdom of God.
The Maasai Mission was founded by a courageous young man many years ago to bring biblical knowledge to the Maasai people and he went on to found nine churches scattered over the Trans-Mara District of Kenya, each with it’s own pastor. The churches have flourished and this fact-finding trip enabled the North West Church of God to confirm that these are truly Churches of God, keeping the seventh day Sabbath and God’s Holy Days. The congregations are full of life and joyfully worship God through both singing and prayer. The pastors teach and serve God’s people faithfully and truly the people look to Jesus Christ as their Saviour and High Priest – the Head of the Church. The N.W.Pastor had the privilege of speaking to most of these churches with a message about God’s Plan for Mankind, and the coming Kingdom of God. He brought them the news that they, on repentance, baptism and the gift of God’s Holy Spirit, are adopted as begotten members of God’s Family. Ephesians 1:5 “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,” They are then counted as spiritual Israelites, ( Romans 9:6,8 “Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 8. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”). On their resurrection, or change into spirit beings if Christ returns before they die, (1 Corinthians 15:51-52 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”) they will become Kings and Priests, first in the land of Israel, where they will be given cities to rule, Luke 19:12 & 17 (“ He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. 17.And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”)

When these representatives see the impressive changes that take place in Israel under the rule of Jesus Christ, the richness and productive fertility of the land, the sheer prosperity of that nation in a world made desolate by the Great Tribulation, they will request to be taught how to achieve such success in their own lands. (Isaiah 2:3 “And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.”)
Then God will tell these dedicated African members of His Family that it is time to return to their own continent, as Kings and Priests, there to rule as Ambassadors of God’s Kingdom.
What a joyous privilege to share such truth ! The only sadness was that very few had a bible in which to read these things for themselves. The NW Church immediately sent them more Bibles, but the need is great and any contributions towards further Bibles for the Maasai Mission can be sent to either – North West Church of God Or - Shelter Ministry
