Bloodshed in Israel Abraham's Childern
One would have to be blind not to have witnessed the bloodshed in Israel and Jerusalem as two peoples struggle for the same land, a land given by covenant, by God to Abraham and his children forever.

Genesis 17:8 "Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God."

Herein lies the problem. Abraham was promised children by God but because his wife Sarah was slow to conceive, she took her handmaid Hagar to be a surrogate mother. Hagar had a boy called Ishmael who became the ancestor of the Arab nations. When Sarah finally did conceive and Isaac was born, she became jealous. Genesis 21:10-13

"Therefore she said to Abraham, "Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac." And the matter was very displeasing in Abraham"s sight because of his son. But God said to Abraham, "Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called. "Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed."

God had predicted Ishmael"s descendants would be a violent people Genesis 16:11-12

'And the Angel of the LORD said to her: "Behold, you are with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the LORD has heard your affliction. He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, And every man's hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren." And so they became, generally dwelling in the deserts of the Middle East, but always envious of the land their ancestor was forced to leave. God promised this land to Abraham's wife's child Isaac.

Genesis 26:3-6 "Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. "And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; "because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws." So Isaac dwelt in Gerar.

He became the father of Joseph who fathered Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. Israel had twelve sons, one of whom was Judah, the ancestor of the Jews.
